The eighth-annual Eurobike is a family-friendly event dedicated to the style and sophistication of European mechanical design and the history of the machines that inspire the imagination with a feeling of freedom and a hint of rebellion. Each year, Raleigh North Carolina hosts the Southeast’s largest gathering of British, European and Euro-inspired motorcycles. The two-day event brings together the best examples of European design excellence and offers something for anyone interested in motorcycles, the motorcycling lifestyle and “speed as art.”
Aprilia, BMW, BSA, Ducati, KTM, Moto Guzzi, Norton, and Triumph are just some of the marques that will be on display. Along with European bikes, Eurobike features scooters and café racers from all over the globe – classic styles inspired by the Mods and Rockers of 1960s England. Prizes will be awarded in several attendee-judged categories. There will also be a gear raffle, music, vendor booths, tech talks, and food.
Eurobike is presented by Do the Ton Triangle, a local group of custom bike enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the history, camaraderie, and D.I.Y. philosophy of classic and retro-styled motorcycles and their lifestyle.
Each year, Eurobike supports a regional or a motorsports-related charity. This year, the charity of interest is InterAct, a 501c charity. InterAct is a private nonprofit organization that provides safety, support, and awareness to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. InterAct also promotes violence-free relationships and communities through collaboration, public information, education, and advocacy.
Participant demographics: Eurobike appeals to three primary interest groups:
1. European Motorcycle Owners – 70% Baby Boomers, middle to upper middle class. 45 to 65 years old. Owners of British and European motorcycle brands. Some are enthusiasts of motorcycle racing events, track days, and motorcycle touring.
2. Cafe Motorcycle Owners/Builders – 30% Millennial/college aged, entry level middle class. 22-45 years old. Owners of custom bikes from various manufacturers around the world.
3. Spectators of similar groups, and also including young urban professional and families at the Sunday show, seeking something different to do on a Sunday. Central NC / Research Triangle region is a hub of Tech/Pharm/BioMed companies and universities. This event attracts college educated upper to middle-income participants and similar families. Probably 50% of the spectator draw (~1500-2000). Remaining attendance is motorcycle enthusiasts and owners of exotic motorcycles.
